I do not in any way mean to have this as an affront of a leader, I pray for, but it is a personal thought and our Nation is at the centre of need, that you may disagree with and I stand to be corrected.
This a nation where our Police are heralded as champions anytime/anywhere they go on missions abroad, but the case at home is of toll gates and robbers robbing on our highways, in-between police check points. I hear of even the Special Anti-Robbery Squad being accused of illegalities.
This a Nation, know to have brought an end to Nigeria’s civil war, the War in Liberia and Sierra Leone and successes in the Middle East and all over the world as peace keepers. We wake up to have a political tout [(Boko Haram) was the political Machinery of a past Governor of Borno State], costing the Government and the International Community Billions in Dollars , lives and properties. And the Government cannot smoke him/them out of Sambisa Forest, an enclave built by the same Nigerian Government for Military training.
A Nation that has scattered their true peaceful Fulani herdsmen from the forests, where they were hitherto grazing the animals from the North to the Southern parts of Nigeria without issues. These Fulanis are the ones you now see in towns and cities, selling sugar cane, water melon, selling water and all sorts of petty trades to make a living. Ask them why, they will tell you they no more have cows. What happened to their cows, rustlers stole them, the ones they could not steal, they kidnap their families and collect up to One Million Naira ransom per person. That led to their selling the cows to rescue their families. SO who are this AK47 Herdsmen? A Northern Governor is said to have visited a neighbouring country to give certain herdsmen monies to come to Nigeria and revenge? or something like that. Nobody has asked this Excellency if he is now the External Affairs Minister or the Minister for Defence; Whose monies did he use? Kaduna States or his personal monies? The Herds that are being pampered with imported Grains and Grass, whose are they? These herdsmen that can blatantly tell serving Governors that they will have their ways who are behind them?
I hope I heard this wrong, it was on radio, heard in Hausa passingly in Zaria, that 28million foreigners were giving Nigerian citizenship, who are this people? If that news is true, will the immigration not need a robust well publicized ceremony for such an event?
With the major mandates of Corruption fights and seemingly huge amounts recovered, Nigerians still ask where are the recovered monies and what of the still increasing heart disturbing cases of monies still disappearing?
If what I saw in the social media on the Kano Local Government elections is true and the worrying issues permanent Voters card registrations. Under Age voting and registrations, amongst uneven spread of centres to favour some sections of the community and extra long disturbing queues/difficulties, with no look of resolve.
Yesterday, if you abuse Buhari in the North, you may receive a stab or slap, but now it is the stabbers and slappers that are in the for front of the game.
I ask, what is Buhari going to do different in one year before the next elections?
Will he change his cabinet and bring in Game Changers, like PDP did with the installation of Muazu? Will he act decisively on the issues of the herdsmen or keep very mute in the name of studying the situation? Will he give the Military a deadline to smoke Boko Haram out or give chance to those who can. (At least the present Governor spoke of the cycle of successes by some Generals, who get changed for others who more or less allow an upsurge of the crisis. I ask where is the Nigerian Military reserves? Don’t we have that? Call back the retired, able bodied Military Men and women especially those who succeeded in their missions to do the needful or atleast show the serving ones the way to go.
What will he do on the Economy to ensure food is available and affordable to the teeming masses that have in some cases resort to a meal or two a day?
I have not tried to look at his campaign promises, but need to say Buhari carried a weight of non-performing support at the Local Governments, States and National Levels and he does not seem to see that.
I must bring also the observation of the Wife of the President, who voiced her not voting for him come 2019, if he continues with some persons. It was a novel observation that had never been in the annals of Nigeria.
What will he do with the Petroleum price and availability, I have not heard David West in a long time, we were expecting Petrol to be N40/litre and all the refineries working, especially now that the President is the Minister for Petroleum.
I have heard some Governors that appointed Commissioners are advised to start training them to start giving/dashing out monies to people. Where will they get this monies from, I hope it will not be project budgeted funds that will now be shared like in the past? EFCC will not check that now, till they are out and then ghost hunts begin. That should change, checks and balances need to be in place.
How some sleep am not sure, but I still pray for them. That God will give us the ability to change what we / they can, to delegate those that need delegation, leave the ones that need to be left and step off at the appointed time.
By now am sure my Egbons Femi and Abati need to have a retreat, so that Iron can sharpen Iron. There’s need for Femi to read again Abati’s mystics relay of the Villa, it can at least help in the prayer points of the Aso Villa Chapel, if you get what I mean. I wish everybody well, like Patience Jonathan, that said, ‘so it is her they wanted to use and win the elections… may they never win’. The sickly Patience got well immediately her Husband accepted defeat. Spiritual warfare, some will say.
Before we start asking for the true indigene-ship of some/most of our officers; and when our Security Agencies will put their house(s) in order, Buhari needs to start putting his house in order or he will end up regretting accepting the mantle of Leadership without a true Idiagbon to carry out the work.
In whatever way it comes, 2019 is not 2015, so the shameless Kano local government elections, where children of just left infancy are lining up and voting. With the National INEC, saying it is the responsibility of the states; that will not hold. Are those the 5 million votes the governor is promising PMB? I wonder how State Policing will be in the North. I hope it will not be used like the Emirate police in molestations and victimizations during the pre and colonial periods.
Buhari’s has so much work in hand as there has never been any leader loved by so many like Buhari. There are still many that do, but he needs more to gain the trust fast failing and redeem the dwindling image he is gradually diminishing. You may not realise that till you hear the before now buharians bringing comparism with late Yaradua (May his Soul continue to rest in peace).
In conclusion, mine is a prayer, That God will start the removal of all / any hindrance to our greatness. May we and our Children and their, begin to see the Nigeria, where tribes and tongues differ in a united brother/sisterhood. Where the labours of heroes past is not in vain; with peace and plenty abounding and NO One is Oppressed. God bless first the People of Nigeria and then The Federal Republic of Nigeria.
